Staff Analysis of the Legislation

Georgia law allows counties to create code enforcement boards as an alternate to magistrate court to enforce ordinance violations.  The current law refers to "code inspectors" as the individual appointed by the county to enforce codes.  HB 93 changes the name of these employees as "code enforcement officers."
